Brooklyn Roasting Company continues the long tradition of roasting coffee in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where coffee was roasted for Navy sailors starting in the 1860s. Founded in 2009, Brooklyn Roasting opened their Yard headquarters and roasting plant in 2018 inside Building 123. As big fans of the Yard’s historic fabric, BRC has repurposed old washbasins as tables inside and outside their facility.
