This is year four of our photography tours of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and we need your help to select the best photo of the Yard of 2016. All of these photos were taken across four two-hour explorations we led in partnership with the Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92. We received 118 submissions from 22 different visitors for our photography contest, and four judges – one a former staffer at the Yard, one a BLDG 92 Visiting artist, and two artists with studios in the Yard – volunteered their time to select the 12 you see below.
Now we need your help to pick just one.
The photograph that receives the most votes will win the People’s Choice Award, and the winning photographer will receive a complimentary two-hour tour of the Brooklyn Navy Yard with Turnstile Tours for up to 30 people. If you would like to participate in next year’s photo contest, our first Seasonal Photography Tour of 2017 will take place Sunday, January 22 – get tickets here.
VOTING INSTRUCTIONS
Click the “Like” button next to your favorite photo. In order to vote, you must have a Facebook account and be logged in, so you may only vote once for each photo. These photographs will also be on display at BLDG 92 starting later this month, and you can peruse them and cast a paper ballot in person for your favorite shot. If you don’t have a Facebook account, you may also cast a vote by emailing us at info@turnstiletours.com – be sure to include the name of the photographer and the season in which it was taken. Voting will take place until 11:59pm on Sunday, January 22. More information about the photographs, photographers, and judges is below.

Turnstile Tours offers the Seasonal Photography Tour of the Brooklyn Navy Yard four times throughout the year. The first tour of the 2017 season will be Sunday, January 22 at 2pm. We also offer our Past, Present & Future Tour of the Brooklyn Navy Yard every weekend 2-4pm, and other special themed tours of The Yard. All tours are offered in partnership with and begin at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92, which offers free admission to three floors of exhibitions on the Yard’s past and present and a host of great special events and programs.
