8pm: Masters of Social Gastronomy Present Food of the High Seas – Littlefield, 622 Degraw St, Brooklyn
Join Sarah Lohman and Jonathan Soma as they break down the history and science of food at sea, from 17th-century galleons to modern cruise ships.

9am: Fleet Week New York Parade of Ships up the Narrows – Fort Hamilton & Bay Ridge, Brooklyn
See the Navy and Coast Guard ships as they steam into New York Harbor. When they pass under the Verrazano Bridge, they’ll be met with a salute of guns from Fort Hamilton.
11am & 3pm: Pots & Pans for Uncle Sam: How Recycling Helped Win World War II – Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, W. 46th St, Manhattan

8am–5pm: Ships open for tours – Pier 92, W. 52nd St, Manhattan & The Sullivans Pier, Stapleton, Staten Island
See the USS Oak Hill and the USCGC Campbell at Pier 92, while the USS Cole, USS McFaul, and USCGC Katherine Walker will be berthed in Staten Island.
10am–2pm: USO Bike Build – Pier 92, W. 52nd St, Manhattan
Volunteer to help the USO assemble bicycles that will be given to members of the armed services and their families.

[emoji black rightwards arrow] 11am: Fighting Ships & Working Waterfronts: Fleet Week Tour of New York Harbor – Classic Harbor Line, Chelsea Piers, W. 22nd St, Manhattan
This 2.5-hour harbor cruise will explore the military history of New York Harbor from World War II to the present, exploring sites like the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Brooklyn Army Terminal, Red Hook, and the New Jersey and Staten Island waterfronts. The tour will also pass by the Fleet Week ships berthed in Staten Island, as well as the USS Intrepid. World War II-era veterans and defense workers receive free admission.

[emoji black rightwards arrow] 11am: World War II Tour of the Brooklyn Navy Yard – Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92, Carlton Ave & Flushing Ave
Learn how the Brooklyn Navy Yard became the busiest shipyard in the world, employing 72,000 workers and repairing more than 5,000 ships, as well as building battleships and aircraft carriers. This bus and walking tour will explore the 300-acre site from its piers and dry docks to the haunting Naval Hospital campus, and along the way, we will hear oral histories from the men and women who worked and served at the Yard. World War II-era veterans and defense workers receive free admission.
12pm: US Coast Guard Search & Rescue Demonstration – The Sullivans Pier, Stapleton, Staten Island
See the men and women who protect and patrol New York Harbor demonstrate their life-saving skills. This demonstration will be offered throughout the week – see the Fleet Week calendar for more details.
1:30pm & 4pm: A Hard Decision, a staged reading and musical production honoring military veterans – Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92, Carlton Ave & Flushing Ave
See this free performance of this play that explores the experiences and challenges of soldiers who fought in Vietnam.

This bus and walking tour will examine the historic shipyard and its transformation into a model for sustainable industrial development. See where ships from the Age of Sail to the Cold War were launched, and learn about the 330+ companies that call the site home today.
